A joint meeting of the Euroclub of UEPA and the Euroclub «Open World» of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 144 took place

 

On March 3, 2023, a joint meeting of the Euroclub of UEPA and the Euroclub «Open World» of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 144 took place.

The meeting was devoted to women in business, science, politics, culture. There were a total of 45 attendees; among them Shaparenko O.V., the organizer of the meeting and the coordinator of the UEPA Euroclub, Ph.D. Assoc., Karabitskova N.O., a teacher of the Department of Foreign Language Training, European Integration and International Cooperation; Sokolova E.G., a curator of the Euroclub «Open World» of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 144; Matsulyevich O.E., a deputy director of Kharkiv Lyceum 144 for scientific and methodological work; students of UEPA, Karazin KhNU, students of Lyceum No. 144.

The working languages of the meeting were Ukrainian, English, German.

In the first part of the meeting, H. Bezkorovainy, the first-year student of UEPA spoke about the Kharkiv heroine Vlada Chernykh. The attendees honored her memory with a moment of silence to the poignant song «Two Colours» performed by Kvitka Tsysyk.

After that, the students and schoolchildren got acquainted with the new edition of the newspaper Digest (ed. Dronova D, gr. MT-19), which contained some material about Kvitka Tsisik and Heidi Lamar, outstanding women with Ukrainian roots of a global scale.

The students' presentations about Marie Curie (Hubar K. gr. ГР-21), Margaret Thatcher (Volkova A. gr. ГР-21), women in art (Chub O., gr. ГР-22мг) were also interesting. mg). The students gave their presentations in English and German and showed a high level of language proficiency.

In the second part of the meeting within the framework of the joint project «Ukrainian Youth on the Way to Democratic Values», the participants were shown the first three video reels of students and schoolchildren who, as a result of Russian aggression, are residing abroad. The authors of stunning videos are Miniaylo V., 9th grade, Lyceum No. 144, the country of residence – Germany; Moskalets A., a student of Karazin KhNU, the country of residence – Denmark; Torosova L., a student of the Karazin KhNU, the country of residence – Germany. All the girls showed amazing fluency in English.

The goal of the project «Ukrainian Youth on the Way to Democratic Values» is to connect students in Ukraine with Ukrainian peers in different EU countries, to exchange experience and true information about events in Ukraine and other countries.

At the end of the meeting Karabitskova N.O. told the students of the lyceum about UEPA, its faculties and specialties and invited the school-leavers to join the Academy family.

Matsulyevich O.E., Shaparenko O.V. and Sokolova E.G. made closing remarks about the development of cooperation and further fruitful work of the two Euroclubs.
